Welcome to the blog of the KnittyProfessor! This month I have been focused on making items to make life easier with baby. In preparation for my new arrival I am stocking up on waterproof pads for changing diapers. I bought a lot of these for my first son and used them everywhere everyday, but can hardly find them in stores anymore. So I resorted to making my own and of course can only improve on it because I can choose fabric I love rather than the one goofy choice given at the stores. These are great to put folded in the car seat too to save your seat cover when you’ve been traveling too long and forgot to change baby’s diaper…

I’ve also been working on pretty and functional diaper and wipes holders. This is all I carry for my older son now who’s not quite out of pull-ups but doesn’t require a whole diaper bag. My version of this bag is unique because I use heat n’ bond between the layers so the bag is stiff and easy to grab inside of my purse or larger bag. I can fill it with a plastic wipes holder, a couple of diapers, bib, changing pad, burp cloth and maybe a box of raisins too! It’s been so convenient!

The bag with a matching set of changing pads, and terry cloth and flannel burp cloths is becoming my favorite gift for friends who are expecting.
*Is there a style of fabric or decor you are looking for but can’t find in stores? Maybe I can shop for it and make a set for you?
